"Dance" You are on the road to Vegas as the sun hangs low. The sky is red and beckoning in an inviting way, reminding you that there are friends, dinners, and shows ahead. You stop for a breather... a car is coming toward you at great speed. You jump and bend away just in time as it brushes you so lightly. Then it screams to a stop... The OTHER story is you stop in the middle of the road for that breather and you begin to dance to the flamenco music blaring from the car... Which story do you prefer?
I was practicing composite art and had this idea to have a man on the road, avoiding a car at night! When I went looking for images to make this art, I found just the right components and started working them in together. There is a background that started out as a sunny road on a bright day, a car that was in the right position, and a man who looked like he could be dancing or trying to avoid an oncoming car. This is how I likened it to the enigma that the Mona Lisa presents... Is she smiling or not? Is he dancing or jumping away from the car? Every time I look at it I have that question! I did name it Dance and the license plate says Dance. So there is the story!
